The ancient city of Olympos is an important port city located within the borders of Kumluca District in the west of Antalya. The city takes its name from Tahtalı Mountain, an extension of the Taurus Mountains, which is 16 km north and has an altitude of 2375 m. The ancient city is 87 km away from Antalya.
Although the exact date of its foundation is unknown, Olympos, which was mentioned on the Lycian Union coins minted in 167-168 BC, is one of the 6 cities with three voting rights in the Lycian Union. It represented the east of Lycia in the Union. Most of the ruins of the city that have survived to the present day are covered with trees and bushes in the forest and date back to the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods.
Chimera is a small, historical and touristic natural gas source near Çıralı village in Kemer district of Antalya. It is located in a scenic location close to the sea, and the flames coming out of the rocks attract the attention of tourists. It has been burning for 2500 years and has also been the subject of Greek mythology.
